When I was a kid, the Rockett’s World games consumed every moment of my spare time.  The concept was hardly unprecedented – new girl in school, trying to figure things out, make friends and good decisions – but the particulars of the games, the characters and environment that was Whistling Pines Junior High School were completely enthralling for me.  I wish the games, the book series and the website had all had a longer life span – couldn’t we have seen the kids make it to high school?  – but I’m glad that the games existed when they did for as long as they did. My early adolescence would have been a lot sadder without them.

I still say there’s a proper story here.  Maybe someone will bring this whole franchise back again someday…
