The Day As The Doctor

Last weekend, I joined photographer Jeff Stanford on a walk around Downtown Frederick, Maryland, dressed in full Doctor Who cosplay.  I’m continuing to explore what cosplay means to me and what it’s place is in my life.  I don’t really have firm answers for either of those questions/thoughts, but I thought a photo shoot on a sunny, slightly less brisk winter day (though admittedly not warmer by much) sounded like a good idea.

Here are the results.

Ten is my Doctor.  Obviously.  I admit, however, that when I saw the above photo, it was impossible for me to ignore that I look more like Matt Smith.  That said, I may cosplay the Eleventh doctor at some point in the future, but for the time being, I’m sticking with Ten.  The photo ends up creating a fascinating hybrid of the two doctors (i.e. Ten’s brown suit, blue screwdriver and hairstyle doing a quintessential Eleven pose).  After all, they are all the same man.

Don’t blink!

We tackled a few classic Tennant poses.

This was one of those awesome accidents.  I personally love it.

It was a good day, no?
